Originally from Venezuela, but raised in rural Quebec, my work has always been a blend of two cultures. After completing studies in visual arts at CÉGEP de Sherbrooke, and then beginning a Bachelor of Graphic Design at UQAM (though I didn't finish it), I decided after two years of university to put my studies on hold to focus on my tattooing practice full-time.

For as long as I can remember, I've always used art to express myself, to understand the world around me, and to translate my emotions onto paper so I can better analyze and understand them. I've been greatly influenced by Latin American artists throughout my career, including QUINO, Mordillo, Zapata, Kristen Liu-Wong, Julien Jaca, and tattoo artists such as Doctor Hache, Miedoalvacio, Jessica Chen, and Badluckveteran. Every week I seem to find a new artist who inspires me and motivates me to push my art even further. I'm also very inspired by the clean, straight lines of Mexican, Latin American, and African art. I don't like to call my art Cubist since it's a movement largely based on cultural appropriation by two artists I neither like nor respect.

Tattooing has greatly influenced my style, as my brain has started to organize drawings into compartments rather than compositions. It's now more difficult for me to create a piece that isn't "tattooable." While for the past five years I've tried to adapt my designs for tattoo art, I'm gradually returning to more complex painting compositions and trying to find a way to translate these compositions onto bodies, playing with curves and movement.

I like to try everything, whether it's clay, papier-mâché, welding, or painting, but I always come back to pencils and graphite. These are my favorite mediums; they give me enough freedom to explore and I have enough mastery to have fun and try new things.
